The Refrigerator and Freezer Recycling Program can help you save money on your electricity bill when you turn in your old, working appliance. SCE will pick up your old refrigerator or freezer for free, and pay you an incentive.
You can also save up to $330 a year in electricity costs if you dispose of a spare unit, or $255 a year if you replace it with an new energy-efficient unit. (Estimated electricity cost savings are based on average consumer usage and are not a guarantee of actual savings.)

Do you qualify?
- You must be an SCE customer
- The appliance must be at your SCE service address
- The appliance must be working and cooling at time of pickup
- The appliance must be 10 to 32 cubic feet in capacity

An adult age 18 years or older must be present at the time of pickup.
This program is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and is effective until funding is expended or the program ends on December 31, 2012 or until the program is discontinued by the California Public Utilities Commission. The program is funded by California utility customers and administered by Southern California Edison under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.
